Why Teachers Love Our Programs

Can I tell you that I have taught a ton of after school classes in my career and this Bitspace Wearables class is a dream come true - seriously. I am Team Bitspace all the way!
—K. Redmond

Karen and I both really liked the way the curriculum was organized. We liked how the platform had pictures and text intermingled to show what the text was talking about and close-ups of the wiring. This was super helpful!
—V. Wilson

I really enjoyed this course! It was very informative and supports my philosophy of what education should be. I want to thank you also for the thought-provoking exercises.....WOW! I cannot wait to put my plan into action and share it with my colleagues :)
—R. Metz

Our Make It! Courses

These courses include all of the training and professional development needed to prepare teachers to present these courses at your school, plus complete material kits for each student with everything they need to successfully complete the course project.

Electronics Courses
(Teach them online or in person!)

These easy-to-follow courses will help teachers give their students a basic understanding of circuitry through projects. Students can then carry that understanding into the creation of additional projects and activities.

Wearable Electronics!

This course will introduce students to circuits as they use various electronic components combined with textiles to assist in the creation or modification of smart clothes. Students will be able to express themselves through a combination of engineering and art while learning many new skills; from sewing and making to electronics.

Field Trips

A day in the shop is a fantastic way to ignite your young makers minds, expand their making skill set, or bring your curriculum to life with a physical project. We offer specific projects or we can tailor your field trip to the projects and activities you are doing with students in the classroom.

Each field trip includes 3 hours of making for up to 28 students in our professional maker lab.

Physical Game Design (appropriate for grades 2-6)

Students will work with our team of professional makers and guides to design and build their very own custom game.

Using computational thinking skills, design thinking, creativity, and fun, students will design, build, and take home a game of their own creation.

Mechanisms and Movements (appropriate for grades 4-8)

Partnering with our team of professional makers and guides, students will use basic circuitry to create designs that move using motors, lights, or other mechanisms. From motorized “Captcha” boxes and automata to vehicles and bots, students will design and create their own motorized mechanism in this field trip that incorporates making, motors, and electronics.

Communicating with Machines (appropriate for grades 5-10)

This field trip will have students incorporating coding into their building designs as they work with our staff of guides to code an Arduino to complete a specific task.

Creating everything from light up fortune tellers to drawing robots, students will use design thinking and coding in their smart creation.

Custom Designed Field Trips

Bring your curriculum to life by working with us to turn your lessons into tangible and exciting maker-inspired learning opportunities.

We will consult with you on a project that connects to your curriculum and then lead your students through its creation.
